Job Description:

The Registered Nurse (RN) for Behavioral Health provides and coordinates the care of patients, families, and significant others in the ambulatory care setting. This role involves assessing, diagnosing, planning, and intervening in actual or potential health problems, including the evaluation of the patient’s response to care. You will work in a collaborative, innovative, and supportive environment dedicated to improving patient outcomes.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide and coordinate care for patients and families within the ambulatory care setting.
  • Perform telephone triage, utilizing clinical knowledge and communication skills to assess patient needs.
  • Assess, diagnose, and plan interventions for actual or potential health problems.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using computer systems.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Evaluate patient responses to care and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, infection control standards, and nursing best practices.

Job Requirements:

  • AAS or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN preferred).
  • Current New York State Registered Professional Nursing license.
  • Current BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certification.
  • Current Infection Control and Child Abuse Certificates.
  • Minimum of two years of nursing experience (Ambulatory, Med-Surg, or ER experience preferred).
  • Proficiency in using computer applications and the internet.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to make critical independent decisions and prioritize appropriately
